# Tap Into Calm > Tap Into Calm (https://tapintocalm.app) is a free, no-account web app that guides you through EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) sessions for stress, tension, anxiety, and difficult emotions. It is local-first: everything you enter stays in your browser's storage on your own device, it works fully offline, and it contains no ads and no tracking. Tap Into Calm is a self-help tool for well-being and stress management. It is **not** a medical device, not a health service, and it does not replace care from a doctor or psychotherapist. If difficulties worsen, persist, or significantly affect daily life — or if there are thoughts of self-harm or an acute crisis — the site directs people to a professional. Key characteristics: - **Platform**: installable progressive web app (PWA); runs in the browser, can be added to the home screen, and works without an internet connection. - **Privacy**: no registration, no account, no sign-in. The journal, notes, and settings stay in the browser on the device. The one exception is an optional AI phrase suggestion, which sends only the description the person types and the intensity number. A safety filter refuses that request when the text suggests self-harm or harm to someone else, and the app then shows a worldwide crisis-line directory (findahelpline.com) and local emergency numbers (112 in most of Europe, 911 in the United States and Canada, 999 in the United Kingdom) instead of phrases. The journal can be encrypted with a passphrase or device biometrics, and data can be exported to / imported from an encrypted file. - **Language**: English (`en-US`). - **Cost**: free; the project accepts optional voluntary support. ## Pages - [Home / the app](https://tapintocalm.app/): Landing page and entry point to the app itself. Explains what the app can do, how a tapping session works, and answers frequently asked questions about both the app and the EFT method. - [What is EFT and how does the method work?](https://tapintocalm.app/eft-tapping): Theory page. Covers EFT in 30 seconds, how to get started in practice, the nine tapping points used by the app, what research says, common beginner mistakes, safety and the limits of the method, and a glossary of terms (EFT, intensity, opening statement). - [About Tap Into Calm](https://tapintocalm.app/eft-online): Product page. Explains what stays on the device, the optional AI session, the anonymity and self-harm limits of that request, journal encryption, and installation. It does not repeat the home page's short session guide. - [Premium plans](https://tapintocalm.app/premium): One-time Starter, Regular, and Premium license keys for AI sessions. The free tapping guide, library, and journal stay free. ## In-app views The app is a single-page application; these views live behind hash routes on the home page rather than as separate crawlable documents. - [Session](https://tapintocalm.app/#/session): The guided tapping session itself, with an interactive point map, spoken phrases, metronome, and vibration. - [Session library](https://tapintocalm.app/#/library): Dozens of ready-made scenarios grouped into categories so a session can be started quickly; sessions can also be edited or written from scratch. - [Journal](https://tapintocalm.app/#/history): Personal history of saved sessions, stored only on the device. - [Progress](https://tapintocalm.app/#/stats): Practice calendar plus charts showing how distress drops over time, what bothers you most often, where you feel it in the body, and which areas you work on. - [Settings](https://tapintocalm.app/#/settings): Pace and volume, voice and sound (speech synthesis), reminders, passphrase and biometric lock, data import/export, and full data deletion. ## How a session works 1. **Name the feeling** — pick from a list of emotions or physical sensations, no lengthy typing required (you can also describe it in your own words). 2. **Rate the intensity** — estimate on a 0–10 scale how much the situation bothers you, so the change is visible at the end. 3. **Tune in** — the app builds a setup statement that names what you feel and ends with self-acceptance. You can edit it. 4. **Work through nine points** — a visual guide shows where to tap and which reminder phrase to repeat, with a metronome and optional vibration keeping the pace. 5. **Check in again** — re-rate how you feel and optionally save the result to your journal. ## The nine tapping points The app uses a simplified sequence of nine commonly used points, typically tapped 5–7 times each. Millimeter precision is not important; a gentle rhythm and enough calm to notice changes matter more. Karate chop point (edge of the hand below the pinky, used with the opening statement), top of head, beginning of eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, collarbone, under arm. ## Feature list Install to home screen · full offline operation · on-device-only storage · biometric unlock · passphrase lock for the journal · data import and export · dozens of ready-made scenarios · session editor · automatic read-aloud of all phrases via speech synthesis · vibration and metronome for rhythm · session history and distress statistics over time · discreet practice reminders. ## Optional - [Sitemap](https://tapintocalm.app/sitemap.xml): Machine-readable list of the crawlable pages: home, the method, about the app, and premium plans. - [Web app manifest](https://tapintocalm.app/manifest.json): PWA metadata (icons, name, display mode).
